Photographs of dunnocks around Perthshire. The flight pattern of a Dunnock is short and flitting. They breed throughout Scotland and are widespread in heaths, moors and low dense scrub as well as exposed coastal areas. The Dunnock bird feeds on the ground, foraging for insects and seeds. They shuffle along without the bounce of a sparrow. Their call is a loud penetrating pseeeep which is thin and has little variation. Please click on the images below for pictures you can download. |
