Game birds including Pheasants and grouse through to French Partridge. The pheasant, although a woodland bird, is seen feeding in fields and by the roadside. The very long tails helps to easily identify the males. The species was introduced into the UK 400 years ago. Grey Partridge has a distinct orange face and throat. It is a dumpy bird with a droopy tail. Red legged Partridge are in Scotland all year around. They have a striking coloured pattern.
