Photographs of Jays around Perthshire and the rest of Scotland. The Scottish Jay is a woodland bird but will venture out into parks and large gardens or fields. Jays are often seen feeding on the ground for acorns which they will store in a pouch under their throat. Jays move in a very bouncy fashion, they have a nasal call, mewing pee-oo or harsh shriek. Jays eat a wide range of food, including caterpillars through to small rodents. |
